Let’s Watch YouTube
Let’s Watch YouTube was a project I did as I was learning javascript. It is completely client side, and is my idea of how YouTube should work when you’re trying to watch it with several people. This XKCD comic basically sums up the problem I tried to address:
The alt text is even better: “This reminds me of that video where … no? How have you not seen that? Oh man, let me find it. No, it’s ok, we can go back to your video later.”
So my version allows you to search for new videos while watching a video. It’s pretty hacky, and I never really finished polishing it. However, it got 3rd place at a Yahoo hackathon (which I thought wasn’t bad, considering my entry in a Yahoo event was for a Google product).
If you wanna hack on it some more or add features or whatever, you can check out the code here.
